- With two zip ties holding my transmission shifter linkage to the transmission lever, it was time to replace the bushing
- I have used these on many occasions. They are available at your local parts store (I got these at Advance Auto Parts)
- For the JK and JKU application the clear bushing works the best and is easiest to install into the linkage
- To more easily fit the bushing into the linkage I removed the linkage mount from the transmission. It is only 2 bolts. Very simple. It drops down and you have plenty of room to work on the linkage
- This is the linkage mount location. (Linkage Mount removed)
- This is the end of the shifter linkage at the transmission with the New Bushing fully installed. It pops in with some pressure. I used a channel lock pliers to squeeze it in easier
- Transmission Shifter Linkage re-attached to the transmission shifter lever This fix was tested the next day on a trip to Rausch Creek Offroad Park. No issues.
